Haven’t used it yet – not really traveled anywhere far in the cold winter months. It seems like it will be good

After receiving the mounting bracket, I attached it to my Ford Mustang. It fit after some bending of the vents. However, the bracket shakes quite a bit (noticeably on highways and interstates). Later, the bracket actually broke off one of my horizontal vents! Additionally, the viewpoint is not as ideal as I would have liked (having to look down to see it). Some of these complaints will change depending on your vehicle, but I decided to go back to the suction cup.

I have yet to find a good solution for a GPS mount. The suction cup constantly lost suction resulting in the unit crashing onto the dashboard. I purchased the vent mount which worked great until I carefully removed it and was left with a broken vent. Three of the vertical slats inside are broken which means I can’t direct the airflow. Darn!
Anyone have a better idea?

Had high hopes to get the gps out of the hot texas sun and in a place easier to reach than the dash, but our large beast with all it’s room has a column shifter that would hit the gps if mounted to the right of the steering wheel… so this didn’t work….
on edit – tried it on the right side and ll it did was flop every time it was touched !!!! and with a touch screen device – that’ not good
guess I could take both hands off the wheel – one to hold it still and one to touch it…. but —- as my daughter says – a wreckcident in the making !

After quite a bit of research I sprung for the spring loaded one (pun intended). This one keeps steady on normal driving and it fits perfectly onto my AC vent. This is so much better than the default dash mount. It keeps the GPS steady and at a specific level. It makes it easy to see the GPS. The additional stand also helps it. (it fits perfectly!) Works well with Nuvis and is convenient (allows you to charge the gps with the default mount (the L shaped mount that plugs into the bottom with a little socket) ) . The item itself is nice. It came quickly and it took around 45 seconds to figure out how it worked. Every time you remove it (try not to) it feels a bit weak though.
But this is so much better than any other GPS mounting solution. Minimal footprint, easy view, cheap, legal in california. GPS mounts were a big headache, but now, no problems! I recommend this mount!
