I bought this adapter to replace the wall transformer that came with the Eee 4g. Ours had fallen from about 1.5 feet and broke (it was pulled from the wall) @ 8 months old. This adapter looked great as it was a regular laptop rectangular power brick. I figured it would eliminate that particular problem.

What I received was a replica of the original adapter so I only rated 4 stars.

The delivered product works well, it’s a little lighter than the original with less tendency to pull from the wall. A good feature is the flip prongs are held in place by tension. One of my gripes with the Asus wall wart was the tendency for the prongs to fold while attempting to plug it in, especially in hard to reach areas. This doesn’t suffer from that problem. The prongs seem a little thicker which also help to hold it in place.

Bottom line, if I had known the replacement transformer was going to be better than the original, I would have bought it anyway. I searched Amazon to see if the price was acceptable for the product, and because of the super saver shipping it was, so I won’t be returning it.

However I am a huge advocate of truth in advertising and will be writing to Amazon to note my disappointment the discrepancy, and I’ll have to rate the seller low, especially seeing I’m the second person to receive the wrong product.

I don’t suggest buying these cords. I have 2 ASUS computers for my kids, ages 10 and 13. The original cords went very fast breaking at the tips that you insert into pc. I bought 2 of these and one did the same thing. But, beyind that, both of them lost the male prongs where the cord connects at the transformer. Don’t understand why these cords have to be in 2 pieces.

This charges my ASUS 701 eee pc great. I had bought a Rocketfish charger from Best Buy for $125.00 that said it worked with ASUS but didn’t. For this price I will order a couple more as backups.

The charger I received looked nothing like the charger in the picture and does not work with an ASUS Eee PC 701 as described.
